Hornsby hosted an amazing regional last weekend with 177 riders and 7 clubs represented. A huge thank you to the JT committee for the use of their track and for their time and efforts in ensuring the track was in great condition for our event. It was great that we could all share in the use of the new facilities. It was the first time in a few years the Hornsby Regional was rain free. The weather conditions were perfect for all riders and spectators to enjoy. Many riders and their families camped at the grounds overnight to ensure they were ready for the early start on Sunday morning. With 7 events planned for the day it was all systems go! Sign on, scrutineering and riders briefing were all completed by 9.30am and all riders eagerly entered the pit area to prepare for the events. Our largest group, the demo riders began practising their minikhana events before heading off into the endure area while other groups simultaneously battled it out to excel in their event titles including footing clover, accelerat8, ring return, orange, looping, bending and minicross. The day was so well organised and all hands were on deck which meant smooth sailing for the morning. All riders stopped to refuel their bodies and were eager to get back on the track after lunch. Good sportsmanship was evident throughout the day as many riders were seen to encourage each other, even between clubs. A 45 prize draw raffle was held throughout the day with the major prize, a BMX bike, being won at the end of the day. All events, raffle and presentation were complete by 4.30pm, a big achievement by all. Overall the Hornsby Club finished equal 3rd. Congratulations to JT who once again finished in first place. Well done to these Hornsby riders that earned themselves a place on the podium: 50cc C Grade - Sean #27 3rd MW C Grade - Kai # 1st 65cc A Grade - Will #693 2nd 65cc A Grade - Noah #936 1st 85cc C Grade - Liam #86 1st BW C Grade - Ewan #220 2nd BW B Grade - Will #48 2nd It goes without saying that all committee members, officials, marshalls and other helpers need to be thanked. Without the dedication and input from all involved, our regional event would never be a success. Hornsby JDBC would also like to thank all of our sponsors for their ongoing and valuable support of the club. The next event on our calendar is the Hornsby/ KMW Twin Series MX day which will be held at the Hornsby club grounds. Entries can be found on the home page...Go Hornsby! Comments are closed.
