tchy, dusty, competitive and fun were words used by Sunday's riders to describe the final round of the year. It was an early morning start with riders and their families arriving to the enticing aroma of bacon and eggs. The lure of the BBQ worked with all 2017 committee positions being filled at the AGM before riding began. Sincere thanks were given to all outgoing members and those new to the committee or taking on new roles were welcomed with open arms. The kids were eager to ride and completed 7 events before lunch. Ring bending, orange, slow, accelerate and brake, footing clover, non footing clover and ring clover. The demo riders were learning some new skills as they attempted some of the roped events for the first time. "That was the best day ever" was stated by one of our demo riders. A quick break and a bite to eat once again saw everyone ready for the track. All classes snuck in two races with results changing each time in some of the classes. Some members tried out the new grandstand to view the racing and thankfully it was a quiet afternoon for our St John Ambulance Volunteer. Our final winners for the 2016 season were: 1st 50cc Ben # 580 1st Miniwheels Jack # 7 1st 65cc Noah # 936 1st 85cc SW Will # 48 1st 85cc BM Ella # 855 Congratulations to all who competed on the day.The final club champions will be announced at the end of year Christmas party which will be held at Louee MX complex in 2 weeks time. In the past this has always been a great social event, giving our members & families the opportunity to hang out away from the usual club surroundings and enjoy a couple of days of fantastic riding that the Louee motocross complex has to offer as well as some fun and good company off the track. |
