Today I am writing to our club community in seek of support for the club in the way of financial donations or prizes. We ask that as members of the HJDBC community you support our sponsorship drive in any way that you can, and also that you pass on our sponsorship request letter (attached, with my details) to other organisations, friends or family who may be interested in helping us.. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and look forward to seeing as many of you at our Interclub at the end of April. Please click on the 'Download File' link below for our sponsorship letter which outlines all the different sponsorship packages on offer. Regards George Severino Vice President HJDBC
The early bird catches the worm they say! Last Sunday 37 eager riders arrived at the track bright and early to hang out with their mates and have fun. As a bonus, they also got to ride for their chance at a podium place for Round 2 and gain points towards the end of year championship. The breeze made for perfect weather, unfortunately the sand flies enjoyed it too so the mozzie spray was close at hand. Lunch orders in, check. Rider sign on, check. Bike scrutineered, check. Bike fuelled, check. Riders briefing, checked. Just a normal routine for a ride morning before the events get underway. The large numbers meant that each class had a healthy group of riders which made for great competition. Every event presented different place getters which made for an exciting day. Among the riders were some new families who were riding at our friendly club for the first time. We welcome all new families and riders and hope you enjoyed your first day. Seven events were held on the day. These included; non footing clover, accelerate and brake, acceler8, ring return, bending, orange and mini cross. The morning events ran relatively smoothly apart from some healthy debates between officials regarding some of the new rule changes. The afternoon brought plenty more action with riders keen to sample the freshly groomed track prepared by Aaron from AGM Earthworks. After some sighting laps the conditions were superb with a few damp sections out of turn 4 & 5 however it didn’t take long for the ruts to appear and riders were battling the tricky sand especially in corners 2 & 3. We had some very competitive riding throughout the afternoon which was great to see and the results for the day are as follows: 50cc Auto - 1st Charlie #23 Miniwheels - 1st Jordan #751 65cc - 1st Lincoln #62 85cc - 1st Declan #91, and Junior Big Wheels - 1st Dom #224 Well done to all riders who competed on the day and thanks to all the marshals and officials with a big thanks again going out to Jeff who was our Steward for the day AND also a big thanks to our Sponsors which are greatly appreciated and help us enjoy what we do. ...Check out some action shots from the weekend here. We have a social event for parents coming up on Friday 23rd March. Keep the date free. More details to come. We have a practice day coming up on the 18th March followed by Championship Rnd 3 on Sunday 8th April...Gates open at 8am. We look forward to seeing you there! Go Hornsby! |
