ABOUT
The Louee Enduro and Motocross Complex is on Lue Station, a working sheep and cattle property situated near the village of Lue in Central NSW. It’s approximately four hours drive from Sydney.

Each year we book it for the Club’s annual Social for three days riding (Fri, Sat, Sun), with our catered dinner and Awards night on Saturday night the pinnacle of the weekend.

As per 2023 calendar, this year the dates are Fri-Sun 24-26 November 2023.

Those that ride – kids and adults – enjoy the kilometres of enduro trails and/or the multiple speciality tracks that Louee offers from Friday to Sunday.

No dogs are permitted on Lue Station.

ACCOMODATION
All accommodation is on Lue Station. The Lue Cottage sleeps twelve; the Shearers Quarters sleeps thirty-two, and camping is available. Due to limited bathroom facilities in the camping area, those with camper vans with their own bathroom facilities will get preference for spots in the campground if there is competition for places.

FEES AND CHARGES
HJDBC’s ride and accommodation packages cover riders and non-riders, Adult and Child U18 for the three days, and include accommodation, ride fees, overnight bike storage and our catered dinner on Saturday night.

THE BOOKING PROCESS

A link via trybooking.com was sent out with all the details required. It was allocated on a first come, first served basis with payment required at the time of booking.
Bookings are now closed.

CAN YOU GO ON THURSDAY?
Louee DOES allow guests to arrive on Thursday BUT

Only those staying in Shearers or Lue Cottage, and
Only for arrivals after 5pm Thursday
Riding is NOT available Thursday.

So if you're Camping arriving Thursday is not an option.

The early check-in process is

Guests make their way straight to accommodation on arrival and check in at the complex on Friday morning from 8:30am.
Additional charges apply for the Thursday for Shearers Quarters and the cottage. You would pay this direct to Louee Friday morning.

SATURDAY NIGHT DINNER AND AWARDS
Dinner is from 6:30 pm, at the Shearers Cottage. Campers will drive up to Shearers for the night. Bring your camping chair!

Steven from countryroast.com.au will cater our dinner, and offer up a sumptuous spread of roasts, veggies and salads.

FOOD AND DRINK

There’s a Kiosk at the complex that sells lunches. Otherwise, you’ll need to self-cater for all meals other than dinner on Saturday night (and any pies you plan to buy from the complex). Snacks are good during the day, and you’ll want plenty of water/ drinks especially if it’s hot.
Consider plastic containers etc in case of hungry varmints.

BIKES AND RIDING

Most people ride Friday, Saturday and Sunday (eg. leave home early Friday, arrive at Louee, register, and get into it).
You cannot buy petrol at Louee; so bring what you need.
You can use their overnight bike storage.
You cannot ride before 9am, or after 5pm.
Their on-site Bike workshop can help you with mechanicals.
Especially if it’s wet/ muddy, take lots of $2 coins to pressure wash bikes each day as they will need it.
Anyone who does the enduro loops will need to pump their tyres up to at least 17psi to reduce the chance of punctures.
If it remains wet and muddy, consider taking spare brake pads for the bikes.

WHAT ELSE TO BRING

At Lue Cottage Linen, blankets, pillows and towels are provided.
At Shearers Cottage, they are not. Bring pillows, sheets, blankets (or a sleeping bag), and towels.
Camping chairs and a Gazebo can make non-ride times more comfortable.
Kids with endless energy love to ride their mountain bikes when the motor bikes have been put away.

Tue 4/10 the club will email you the total charge due based on your numbers and accommodation. You will have three days to EFT the money to the club, and email us your EFT receipt.
Fri 7/10 is closing date for payments.

Thanks to Adam van Middeldyk, Jason Young, JC Camelin, Kevin Joyce, and Peter Pezzuto for their efforts at the Working Bee today. We got heaps done and were done by 1130. Call outs particularly to Adam for his mouse proofing of the clubhouse door and work with the clubhouse gate, Kevin and Pete for the cleaned and repainted MX start line, and JC for his overgrowth taming to keep the fences safe. The new generator got its first service, and the wiring in the toilet block progressed. Thanks as always to Jas for driving the activity.

We're on for tomorrow Sun 13 Mar 2022. Huge registration numbers. We're going to have a ball. Now's a good time to refresh about Comp. Days if you're new to them. See this post below, particularly about how Comp. Days differ to Practice Days, Rider Numbers on Bikes and Club Jerseys. Don't forget all of your safety gear, including ELBOW and KNEE protection.

We hope you're all doing OK with this rain. Noah's Arc never seemed more apt.

As at Wed 9 MAR we are still calling the Competition Day planned for Sunday 13 MAR as ON. The kids need to get experience in riding in all conditions. This would certainly help!

Keep an eye out for announcements. We will make a call latest Noon on Saturday as to whether we need to postpone again, based on weather and track conditions.

Do refer to our last post (here) about the last postponement, the carry over of your registration, and what to do if you don't want to ride this weekend. It's your action to withdraw in RiderNet if you need to.

Not taken lightly; we had a BIG turn-out registered, and it would have been a spectacular day if the weather gods were kinder to us. So ... onto next time.

The Club Calendar has been updated.
If you have registered for Sun 27 Feb you don't need to do anything so to be registered for the new date of Sun 13 March 2022. Your registration and ride fee will be transferred to the new date in RiderNet by our hard working Race Secs.
If you don't want to ride on Sun 13 March, you'll be able to log into RiderNet and WITHDRAW your registration, once step #2 has been done. We will announce when this has been done. We will miss you on the day.
If you never registered for Sun 27 Feb you will of course be able to register for Sun 13 March ... We'll announce when its available in RiderNet.

]]><![CDATA[Competition Day 27 Feb 2022 - Q & A]]>Wed, 23 Feb 2022 11:41:38 GMThttps://www.hjdbc.com.au/posts/competition-day-27-feb-2022-q-aThis is our first competition day for 2022 and we welcome all of the new members who are yet to enjoy one. There's been a few questions, so we'll consolidate them here (and update with new questions as received).

Q: How do I register for S1R1?
A: Use this link to register in RiderNet. You'll need your license sorted (see below). If you're a Nipper, see below.

Q: I'm sick of La Niña - will you cancel if it is too wet?
A: We typically only cancel if conditions are deemed dangerous to ride. Being wet is not in itself a reason to cancel. We'll review on Saturday but most likely make a call by 6:45am Sunday morning if a call needs to be made. SO KEEP YOUR MOBILE PHONES ON ... A cancellation message would go to the same phone numbers that the Wednesday and Friday call for registration messages are sent to. If the event is cancelled, ride fees are refunded through RiderNet. Harry and Steve are going to check out the track Lunch Time Sat.

Q: I think the event might be cancelled. Should I still register?
A: Yes. Any cancellation typically won't be called until even the morning of the event ... So get your registrations in as normal now.

Q: Can Nippers ride in Competition Days?
A: Absolutely. Nippers are one of the entry classes, and they should be out on their bikes too. The difference for them is that they are non-competitive. No points or flags for them.

Q: How do Competition Days differ from Practice Days?
A: Comp. Days are competitive days where riders ride under tighter conditions, may be black flagged if they foul, but otherwise have the same fun on their bikes that they do on a Practice Day. It's where we see true competitive spirit and camaraderie shine. It's a different day for Parents too; you're gonna be responsible for a marshalling or pencilling spot and riders will depend on you to wave your flag accurately. The pencillers act like the head Marshall for an event, and will tell you what to do if you're unsure. At the end of the day we drag the podium out, and award a 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each of the 5 competitive classes.

Q: I only did my Kickstart last weekend. Can I enter the Competition Day?
A: If you've followed the MNSW procedure the coach emailed you after your Kickstart and have obtained your license already - you can enter. And we applaud your spirit. Be aware though that if your rider has never seen a Minikhana event, a competition day may be a little daunting to start with. There's a Practice Day on Sun. 13th March, so you don't have long to wait.

Q: Do you need your Rider Number on your Bike?
A: Yes. Unless you're a Nipper, you do, and you'll get pulled up at Scrutineering if you do not. Writing it on with a thick Sharpie is OK.

Q: Do you need a HJDBC Jersey for the Competition Day?
A: Formally, yes. But we know a lot of you have them on order ... So if you do not yet have one, we won't pull you up for it. If you ordered your new Jersey BEFORE 18 Feb 2022, we expect it to be available at the Blacktown Interclub 20 March 2022. If you ordered after 18 Feb, your Jersey will be a week or two later than that.

This is NOT an instant process ... the Club Secretary needs to process it after you've submitted. And you'll need your membership renewed to be able to register for the upcoming Practice Day (or any other event). So please renew your membership now.

MNSW LICENSES
You should find if you check on-line that MNSW has extended your licence to the end of 29 July 2022 due to COVID impacts in 2021.
