Every year at the end of the Motorcycling Season, Motorcycling NSW, our State Controlling Body, holds a presentation night to award all those riders for their stellar performances in all disciplines of riding from NSW.
The night was held at the Penrith Panthers Home Grounds and MC'd by Mr Mark Beretta, Channel Seven's own sports commentator. A lovely formal event, with lots of glitz and glamour, was attended by approx. 20 club members as they got to receive awards for doing so well in 2014 in the form of a special plaque to commemorate their achievement. Congratulations to Nick #17, Will #6, Jack #15, Matt #515, Matt #117 and Brad #246. On the hottest weekend of November, the club descended on the Louee motocross complex just outside of Mudgee NSW for three days of riding and presentations to end the 2014 season of riding.
The temperature on the Saturday topped approx. 38 degrees and after the wind that caught a number of riders out whilst airborne on the Friday, it was a testing but fun weekend. To all riders and families, Merry Xmas from the 2014 and 2015 committee. Travel safe over the festive period and we look forward to seeing you all and any new members in the 2015 season for another big year of dirtbikes. What great weather and what a great turnout for the final round of the club championship 2014.
An enthusiastic bunch of riders started the last round with plenty of smiles and a keen eye on the final prize of the year, the overall club championship. The top riders were not separated by much and it would prove to be a gripping culmination to a year full of wonderful results for the Hornsby club both at home and away in competition. Seven events tested the riders on the always tricky Hornsby event area's putting their skills to the test for one last time in 2014. Some riders shone in the dust, others lost their way in what is always a tough outcome. Some thrilling minicross events in the bigger bike classes added some excitement for marshals, spectators and riders at the end of a long day after proceedings dragged out somewhat due to the Annual General Meeting. Riders who made it to the podium at the conclusion of proceedings where: 1st 50cc - Callie #19 1st Miniwheels - Jack #15 Equal 1st 65cc - Ella #80/Noah #93 1st 85cc Small Wheel - Mat #515 1st 85cc Big Wheel - Lucas #240 1st Seniors - Jonno #911 Congratulations to all who competed on the day no matter your result and good luck to all for your place in the club championship. We would also like to say goodbye to some of our older riders leaving us after the 2014 season. Your passion for the sport and leadership example for the younger riders has been exemplary and will be missed. Good luck in your future riding career. The club would like to thank all of the outgoing committee members for their hard work and commitment over the 2014 season and say a very big WELCOME and THANK YOU to all the new members who have pledged their commitment to their kids and the club for the upcoming 2015 season. Without the voluntary support and hard work of those involved, there would be no club to compete at. Remember to book your spot at Louee Motocross Complex for the 2014 Xmas party and final club presentation. Details of Louee can be found here. |
