After a year of competition and hard work the HJDBC members celebrated with a weekend away at Louee Station, near Mudgee NSW at the end of November with 3 days of riding and end of year trophy presentation. Over 100 visitors made the trip this year which was a fantastic turn out with guests booking out most of the accommodation in and around the complex.
The conditions were pretty hot and dusty at times and the flies were out in force but that didn’t stop little kids and big kids alike riding until they ran out of fuel enjoying all the top quality tracks that Louee has to offer including various MX tracks, Enduro loops and grass tracks for the smaller bikes. On the Saturday evening the whole group gathered for a meal and presented those riders who earned themselves a trophy for the end of the season. The results were: 2016 Club championship after 2 series: Series 1: Series 2: 1st 50cc Ben #580 1st 50cc Ben #580 1st Miniwheels Jack #7 1st Miniwheels Jack #7 1st 65cc Will #693 1st 65cc Noah #936 1st 85cc SW Jack #151 1st 85cc SW Will #48 1st 85cc BW Ella #855 1st 85cc BW Ella #855 The Regional Minikhana achievement awards: 1st Will #693 2nd Jack #170 3rd Ben #580 Most improved rider 2016: Jack #170 Overall club champion: 1st Ben #580 2nd Ella #855 3rd Jack #7 There were also a number of attendance awards presented to riders throughout all classes and also a number of recognition awards presented to parents who have supported the club in various ways throughout the 2016 The comradery amongst both riders and their families was evident, whether it be pouring a friend a drink, making them a cup of tea or starting a bike there was always someone there to help! (Even if it was to cheer you on as you stacked on the way out of the car park). A huge thanks to Dave Brady from ‘The French Kitchen’ for assistance with the catering and driving to town to collect food and organizing the spit etc. and to Carlie and Nicole and their band of helpers for preparing all the food. Congratulations to all riders and families for yet another outstanding year for the Hornsby Club, Merry Xmas from the 2016 committee. We hope you enjoy the festive season and we look forward to seeing you all and NEW members for the 2017 season. |
