Hornsby 2020 Competition Day, Series 1, Round 1, 23 Feb 2020

Hornsby kicked off the 2020 competition with the first of eight club rounds on a fantastic riding day … not too hot, not too wet. Who’d have thought it still summer in Sydney!

We think today marked a possible record for the club; fifty-two riders across all six classes (7 Demo; 4 50cc; 11 MiniWheel; 7 65cc; 12 85cc and 11 JBW).

So many riders and supporters makes for a massive day, and the canteen team worked hard to keep all fed whilst trying out new menu items and variety like chicken schnitzel rolls for lunch. Thanks Rose and team!

We also did something new-ish today in that we kept the event areas open for those who wished to practice when they had finished their Minicross event. Good work for those that took that up.

Because many continuing riders changed classes and bikes for 2020, competition was fresh. T’was interesting to see which events had the highest incidents of black flags: In Footed Clover & Accelerate & Brake 27% of riders flagged; Slow 47%; Ring Return 49%; Bending 64% and Looping 87%. What will you practice at the next practice day on Sunday 8th March?
