With not having ridden at the club for a number of weeks and intermittent rain over that time, the club grounds were in great conditions ready for round 4 of the 2015 club championship. Despite some overnight rain and some drizzle during the early morning proceedings, event areas were quite grippy with little or no standing water to challenge riders.
31 riders began the day, all looking to have a great day of riding and add to their points score for the year. Six events were run that included Accelerate Brake, Footing and Non-Footing Clover, Slow, Looping and Ring Bending. The 85cc class were able to spend some time on the trials section of the complex just prior to lunch, testing their skills in the sandy and hilly sections of that track. In addition, two rounds of minicross were contested in the afternoon after the lunch time break. This is where all the action happened. The second round of the minicross brought about a couple of red flags with some riders finding the day a little testing as competition came to a close. A couple of spectacular offs occurring right at the start/finish line and in front of the spectators left some riders feeling a little worse for wear and finding themselves spending some time with first aid. None the less, all riders had a great day albeit in quite cool, overcast conditions. Results were held over for ratification and will be announced at the next club points day to be held on Sunday July 12th. We wish all club members a safe and happy June long weekend and for those travelling to the Lochmaree Motorbike Complex in the Blue Mountains, a warm long weekend also. Comments are closed.
