Sunday 8th Feb, saw the first round of the revamped Hornsby Club Championship for 2015 get underway. In previous years we have run the club championship over two series consisting of four rounds each. This year, we will be running a straight nine round series with the ability of dropping a riders worst round to maximise their chance of getting the most amount of points towards the championship.
With that said, a large enthusiastic group of riders started the day, which proved to be hot both on and off the track. After our first working bee the grounds were looking in reasonable shape ready for competition. With a larger working bee planned for Sunday 22nd Feb, we should have the grounds back up to scratch after the off season. Seven events were contested, with the ring events proving to be the hardest. Slow is always a hit and miss affair with smart riding and a close eye on the officials often helping you achieve a great result. Two rounds of minicross were run which produced a number of spectacular offs as well as some close racing in a number of classes. Results for the day were as follows: Nippers: Sean, Charlie and Jack 1st 50cc Auto: Will #693 1st Miniwheels: Mateo #31 1st 65cc: Brad #444 1st 85cc SW: Indy #13 1st 85cc BW: Matt #262 Well done to all riders for your riding ability and great sportsmanship. Also a big congrats to the new committee for putting on a great day and to all the parents for helping out as well. Our next event is a practice day this Sunday 15th Feb. BBQ Lunch will be provided so get your orders in early. Unfortunately no Bacon and Egg Rolls on sale this weekend. Gates open at 8am. Comments are closed.
